Why The Tudors?

Because Henry VIII fell in love with Anne Boleyn so deeply that he pursued her for 7 years, propelling the Reformation. Because Anne refused to be Henry's mistress. Because he had six wives and only one bore him a son, who died at a young age. Because Anne, a feminist in her own time, was the mother of Elizabeth I, who never married. Because Lady Jane sat on the throne for 9 days. Because Bloody Mary was no more bloodier than Elizabeth. Because Elizabeth loved Robert Dudley but never gave him, nor any man, a piece of her crown.

It's a great book, I really enjoyed it. Mary Boleyn is an interesting character and was Henry's mistress for quite a long time. I think that Henry held her in high esteem and had real affection for Mary. We're lucky enough to have Josephine Wilkinson speaking at The Anne Boleyn Experience 2010 in May and I'm really looking forward to hearing her thoughts on the Boleyn sisters.
